Black ribbons
Ribbons for clear monochrome printing are used in many industries where there is no need for colour printing. They are regularly used in heavy industry, logistics, transport, electronics and automotive sectors, to name but a few. And these are just a handful of industries where labels printed in black are used.
This type of printing is most often used on paper and film labels, such as polypropylene (PP) or polyethylene (PE). The ribbons offered by Libeli are anti-static, which protects the print head.

There are three types of carbon paper in black:
- Wax tracers – these are most often used for printing that does not need to be highly durable, for example on paper labels used in logistics. Printing with wax ribbons is characterised by limited resistance to smudging and abrasion. At the same time, it is a cost-effective solution for applications with a short label life.
- Wax-resin ribbons – are used for printing on labels which do not come into direct contact with chemicals or various types of lubricants, and are not exposed to extremely variable weather conditions.
- Resin ribbons – this type of thermal transfer ribbon is used wherever not only high print quality, but also durability is essential. Information printed on labels with excellent quality resin ribbons is resistant to abrasion, extreme temperatures and varying external conditions, including the weather. As a result, they can be readily used with adhesive-free labels and tags made of plastic.
